Hypnosis
WORKING WITH THE UNCONSCIOUS
Sometimes, there are things we deeply want to change: a fear, a reaction, a behaviour, the way we feel, or a situation that seems to keep repeating itself.
We may be fully aware of it, have thought about it extensively, understood certain things about ourselves, tried to do things differently… and yet still feel that something is holding us back.
This is where working with the unconscious can open up another way forward.
Hypnosis allows us to explore what lies beyond the thinking mind, through sensations, emotions, images and whatever may emerge during the experience.
When wanting to change isn’t enough
Hypnosis: a tool for working beyond the conscious mind
What is hypnotherapy?
The hypnotic state is a natural altered state of consciousness that we sometimes experience without even realising it — for example, when we become completely absorbed in a good book or find ourselves watching the flames dancing in a fireplace.
In hypnotherapy, we intentionally use this state to connect more easily with the unconscious, allowing other resources, perceptions or possibilities to emerge. Hypnosis is not an end in itself, but a means to an end.
I practise Ericksonian hypnosis, an approach that helps you find your own answers and shift what needs to change. You are not asleep and you don’t lose control: you remain able to speak and interact with me, and no solution is imposed on you. You remain the architect of your own change.
Why does it work?
Every piece of information we receive passes through unconscious filters, shaped over time by our experiences, perceptions, learning and beliefs.
These filters influence how we interpret what we experience, how we feel and how we react. Some experiences can also leave emotional wounds, create blocks or establish protective mechanisms that continue to operate long after they have stopped being useful to us.
This is why we can know perfectly well what we would like to change, understand a great deal about ourselves… and yet continue to feel the same fear, repeat the same behaviour or react in the same way.
Hypnosis allows us to explore what is happening beyond conscious awareness, helping some of these mechanisms evolve and opening up the possibility of reacting, feeling or choosing differently.
A pragmatic, solution-focused approach
You don’t need to understand everything in order to change.
Ericksonian hypnosis is solution-focused: the aim is to create meaningful change around what is causing you difficulty today, rather than trying to understand or explain everything.
We therefore explore what is useful for change, without necessarily needing to identify the exact origin of a difficulty, analyse everything or spend hours talking about it. The work can take place through emotions, sensations, images or symbols, depending on what emerges during the session.
A solid foundation
I trained in Ericksonian hypnosis with ARCHE Hypnose Suisse (Académie de Recherche et de Connaissances en Hypnose Ericksonienne), the Swiss branch of ARCHE, founded in France by Kevin Finel in 2002 and now widely recognised throughout the French-speaking world.
ARCHE’s approach is both rigorous and deeply rooted in practice. Its teaching takes into account the latest research in neuroscience, cognitive science and psychology, while placing a strong emphasis on ethics and the quality of therapeutic support. The school also has its own research centre dedicated to hypnosis.
My practitioner training involved more than 200 hours of study, combining teaching, hands-on practice and educational content. Since then, I have continued to develop my practice through ongoing training and exchanges with other practitioners.
What can we explore through hypnosis?
From a very concrete issue to a more inward or spiritual exploration, hypnosis can take us in very different directions depending on what you would like to work on or discover.
-
Anxiety, stress, phobias, fear of driving, fear of other people’s judgement, emotional reactions that feel difficult to control… Hypnosis can help us explore what lies behind these reactions and work with whatever emerges.
-
Lack of confidence, difficulty asserting yourself, behaviours you would like to change, reactions or situations that seem to keep repeating themselves… We can explore what may be maintaining these patterns and open up the possibility of responding differently.
-
Some experiences can continue to leave their mark long after the events themselves. When relevant, hypnosis allows us to return to whatever emerges as being at the root of an emotion, emotional wound or block, and work with it in a different way.
-
Hypnosis can also become a space for exploration: regression, an experience perceived as a past life, connecting with guides or inner resources, symbolic exploration, or envisioning a desired future.
You don’t need to hold any particular belief: everyone is free to make sense of their experience in the way that feels right to them.Il n’est pas nécessaire d’adhérer à une croyance particulière : chacun reste libre de donner à son expérience le sens qui lui correspond.
What happens during a session?
Each session begins with a conversation to understand what brings you here and what you would like to work on.
I then gradually guide you into a hypnotic state. You remain aware of what is happening and can speak, respond and interact with me throughout the session.
From there, there is no predetermined script. We work with whatever arises — sensations, emotions, images, memories, symbols… depending on your intention and how you experience the process.
We finish with some time to talk about the session and what you are taking away from it.
How many sessions?
There is no predetermined number of sessions. For some issues, a single session may already lead to a significant shift. For others, several sessions may be helpful to explore different aspects of what is happening and go deeper.
We simply move forward according to your needs, your pace and what you would like to work on — with no commitment to a set number of sessions.
DURATION: 90 minutes PRICE: CHF 150 LOCATION: Online or in person at my practice (Zurich)
MY COMMITMENT:
Everyone comes with their own story, sensitivity and way of experiencing hypnosis. I don’t follow the same protocol with everyone: each session is adapted to you, what you would like to work on and your own pace.
My role is to offer you a safe, supportive space where you can move forward freely, without judgement and without anything you need to “get right”.
